Who we are:
Founders
Chester Exchange is led by its two founders, Dr. Elizabeth M. Doherty, and Ms. Kathryn Kelly Redd. They have the education, skills, professional experiences and expertise, and community bona fides, not to mention enthusiasm and strong desire, to guide the network partners in championing the children in Chester in a coordinated, impactful manner.
They are joined by a cadre of experts willing to share their professional expertise with the network partners and support the efforts of Chester ExChange.
Elizabeth Doherty Founder, Executive Director
Dr. Doherty holds a master’s degree in social work (MSW) and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior.
She devoted her career in higher education to teaching courses in organizational behavior, leadership, and organizational development. Her research and consulting work focused on issues concerning employee well-being, rewards, team-building, and organizational change.
In her various administrative positions including Dean, Dr. Doherty designed courses, curricula, and programs; led strategic planning; oversaw program assessment and accreditation efforts; and facilitated student and staff development.
Dr. Doherty has volunteered extensively; most recently with the Out-of-School-Time Programs at Chester Eastside. She leads Chester ExChange as a member of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps.
